Jack Scott Pickett, 55, of Wausau died unexpectedly at his home in Wausau on Saturday, February 21, 2015.
He was born January 9, 1960, son of the late Ray and Betty (Olson) Pickett. He received his education in the Wausau school and graduated from Wausau West High School in 1979. Jack worked as a playground supervisor for the school district at Lincoln School. He then took a job as a bartender at Moonshine Corner and for the past 28 years has been tending bar at the Chatterbox in Wausau.
Jack was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Packers, Brewers, Bucks and the Badgers. You could also find him watching a NASCAR race on TV or attending a local short track race in Wausau. He also enjoyed his Wednesday night pool league but his greatest joy was spending time at family gatherings or just hanging out with his friends at Chatterbox.
He is survived by two brothers, Dennis (Dianne) Pickett and Steven Pickett, two sisters, Lois (Tom Farrar) Pickett and Peggy (Pat) Bogan all of Wausau, WI, his nieces and nephews, Clintt (Diane) Bogan and their daughter Ariel, Jeremy (Jennifer) Pickett and their children Jaeger, Jace and Jadyn, Kristine (Chris) Bell and their children Bryce and Blake, Kelly Pickett, Devin Farrar and Daesea Farrar.
A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at the Chatterbox at 102 S 2nd Ave Wausau.
Jack will be sadly missed by his family and his friends at Chatterbox.
