James Schoenborn

James H. Schoenborn, 71, of Wausau , died Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital under Comfort Care and Hospice Services.





James was born January 17, 1937 in Sheboygan to the late Herbert and Ella (Zemke) Schoenborn. He married Bernadette Pernsteiner Koehler on February 12, 1979 in Wausau . James graduated from Wausau High School in 1953. He served in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1957. James was awarded the Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal prior to his Honorable discharge in 1957. He was a delivery driver for UPS, the owner of Jim’s Upholstery for many years, and was a letter carrier for the U.S. postal service for 21 years before retiring. James enjoyed woodworking and hunting.



Survivors include his wife Bernadette of Wausau, three sons; Jay (Melody) Schoenborn of Rothschild, Jeffrey Schoenborn of Milwaukee, William (Angel) Koehler of Trenton, Fla. three daughters; Shelley (Steve) Ottman of Wausau, Lynette (Russell) Kampfer of Eau Claire, and Jamie Schoenborn (Mark Orr) of San Francisco, Calif., nine Grandchildren; Raquel (Jeff) Zibton, Cody Schoenborn, Travis (Sarah) Rose, Kristopher (Melissa) Ottman, April Rose, Gabriel Koehler, Karis, Aria, and Timothy Kampfer, three great grandchildren; Dawson and Morgan Zibton and Braedyn Ottman, one brother Donald (Lilas) Schoenborn of schofield and one sister Karen Robnick of Duluth, Minn.



James was preceded in death by one brother Marvin and sister-in-law Marvanne Schoenborn.





Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday September 29, 2008 at Trinity Lutheran Church on Stewert Ave. , Wausau . Officiating will be the Reverend Gary Schultz. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park . Visitation will be Sunday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Helke Funeral Home, and Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.





In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
