Janet Carlson, 84, of Wausau passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at North Central Health Care.
She was born September 25, 1933 in Wausau to the late Stanley and Susan (Dodge) Carlson. After graduating from Wausau High School, Janet worked at the Wausau Public Library. She then went on to work in the Systems Programming Department at Wausau Insurance. She retired after 40 years of service. Janet was a past member of the Wausau Elk’s Club. She was a lifelong member of Wesley United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and helped organize the church library. In her younger years, Janet enjoyed traveling, riding her horses and going out to eat with friends. She loved feeding the birds and appreciated the beauty of flowers. During her stay at North Central, Janet always looked forward to participating in the many activities they had to offer.
Survivors include her sister, Judy Anklam of Weston, two sisters-in-law, Jean Carlson of Rib Mountain and Diane Carlson of Wausau and nieces and nephews, Linda, Scott, Ken and Terry. Janet was preceded in death by her brothers, Tom and Jack Carlson.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1101 Elm St., Wausau. Reverend Sue Lee D. Min. will officiate. Entombment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. You may sign our family guest book at helke.com.
