Janet Juedes

May 24, 1932 — May 22, 2009

Janet Juedes, 76, Wausau, died Friday, May 22, 2009 at the Hospice House under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice.

Janet D. Nimz was born May 24, 1932 in Wausau to the late John and Elizabeth (Schmitz) Nimz. She grew up in Wausau and graduated from Wausau High School in 1950. On September 11, 1951 Janet was united in marriage to the love of her life, Floyd Juedes in Dubuque, IA while he was on leave from the Army. The happy couple was blessed with the birth of their daughter, Sandra, on July 20, 1953. Janet was very proud to work as a dental assistant for Dr. Kiger for twenty-five years. Janet and Floyd celebrated fifty-two wonderful years together prior to Floyd’s death on February 15, 2004.

Janet loved being a grandmother and took special pride in her very close relationship with her first grandchild and only granddaughter, Stacey, and cherished the phone calls with her grandsons, Matt and Brandon. She treasured the times that she could have her family together with her. Not being one who liked to cook, Janet did like going out to eat with friends and family. In her free time, she enjoyed watching her neighborhood, looking after her immaculately kept lawn, and watching old movies on TCM, Hallmark and Lifetime. Janet’s special passion was listening to Dean Martin records on the original vinyl.

Janet is survived by her loving daughter, Sandra (Ross) Truitt of Richland, WA; grandchildren, Stacey (Dale) Horaz of Carterville, IL, Matthew Schuman and Brandon Schuman both of Indianapolis, IN; great-grandson, Austin Schuman of Indianapolis, IN; and her brother, Roland Nimz of Waterford. She is also survived by her very special niece, Judy Bloch, who has been wonderful to her aunt; her favorite neighbors, Butch and Paulette Syring; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Martha Hall, Helen McCallum and Elizabeth Stachowiak; and her brother, Walter Nimz.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 28, 2009 at the Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Reverend David Faulkner will be officiating.
