Janine Schalow

Janine Schalow will be remembered as a free spirit who had a pure love for life and her Lord. You could always count on her infectious laugh and bright smiles to make your day better.

She was born August 11, 1960 in Wausau to the late Walter and Joyce (Tesch) Schalow. Janine was a past member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Wausau where she was involved in Bible classes. Janine was currently a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. She loved to sing and dance to all types of music. Her past times included watching the Price Is Right and playing Bingo. Janine was never one to turn down an invite to go out to eat, especially Friday night fish frys.

At the age of 56, Janine passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at her residence at Grace Edgewood Assisted Living in Altoona.

Survivors include her sister, Susan (Leonard) Henkelman of Wausau, her brother Randy (Peg) Schalow of Eau Claire and nieces and nephews, Heather (Mike) Wendt, Kristi (Nick) Brusky, Phillip Henkelman, Noelle (Brian) Grotjahn and Jenny (Brent) Blaeser.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m., Friday, December 9, 2016 Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 703 Flieth St., Wausau. Reverend Robert Edwards will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at church. You may sign our family guest book at helke.com.

We would like to thank the care management team of ContinuUs who helped ensure Janine always had what she needed. We also want to thank the staff at Grace Edgewood for the care and kindness they gave Janine and our family over these last several years. She truly felt that this was her home and you were part of her family.
