Jeffrey Lynn Greni, a devoted husband and father, passed away at Aspirus Wausau Hospital on October 15, 2024. Born in Rapid City, SD on October 28, 1955, Jeff's life was a testament to his passion for the great outdoors and his love for family and friends. His adventurous spirit led him to embrace camping, campfires, deer hunting, and gardening, finding comfort and joy in the natural world surrounding him.
Having proudly served in the Army National Guard, Jeff pursued his passion for learning, earning a Bachelor's Degree from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in 1994. He went on to utilize his knowledge and skills in the shipping industry, excelling in management roles at Fedex Ground and Kelch & Associates.
While never officially a Boy Scout, Jeff was often referred to as the "Oldest Living Boy Scout," embodying the values of preparedness, survival, and a deep appreciation for the simpler things in life. A skilled planner and lover of all things nostalgic, Jeff found joy in reminiscing about past adventures, sharing laughs and creating lasting memories with those he held dear.
His sense of humor, love for life, and irresistible laughter endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him. Jeff's passion for music, movies, and Halloween further showcased his vibrant personality and zest for life. His presence at concerts and love for the festive spirit of the holidays brought joy to those around him, forever leaving a mark on their hearts.
Jeff is survived by his devoted spouse, Cheryl Greni, who stood by his side through life's ups and downs. He is further survived by his children, Marie Bemis, Javis Greni, and Kaira Greni; brothers, David (Loretta) Greni and Sterling (Vivian) Greni; mother-in-law, Farold Kelch; brother-in-law's, Meryl (Shannon) Kelch, William "Bill" Kelch, and Marvin Kelch; 3 Greni nieces; 5 Greni nephews; 3 Kelch nephews; 4 great nieces; 12 great nephews; 2 great great nieces; and former wife, Susan Young.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Hope (Harwood) Greni; sister and brother-in- law, Leanne and Gary Watt; father-in-law, Donald Kelch; and brother-in-law, Donald James Kelch.
A ceremony honoring Jeff's life will be held at a later date.
Our family wishes to thank Jeff’s Aspirus Homecare Nurse, Shannon. We thank her for her care with Jeff. You were really special in our hearts, we love you- you are family.
