Jerraine Holtman

Jerraine Marion Holtman, 88, Wausau, died Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Benedictine Manor under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

Jerraine was born September 25, 1925 in the Town of Hamburg to the late Frank and Adela (Voight) Marth. She is a 1943 graduate and prom queen of Athens High School. Jerraine married Gordon Holtman on March 4, 1951 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Town of Hamburg. Tragedy struck Jerraine early in life when her husband died in 1960 and her 10 year old daughter, Jodene, lost her battle with leukemia in 1963. She persevered and raised her son, James.

Jerraine was a wonderful mother and good daughter to her parents, taking care of them in their later years.
Jerraine enjoyed many pastimes; bowling, playing cards, reading and working on crossword puzzles. She was also an avid Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers fan.

Jerraine is survived by her loving son, James Holtman; brother, James Marth; 4 nieces and extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her siblings, Eldora (Bob) Degner and Milton (Geraldine) Marth; and sisters-in-law, Marlene Marth and Bea Marth.

Funeral services for will be 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Pastor Chris Sansom will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of services at the funeral home on Wednesday. Burial will take place at a later date in Fenwood Cemetery.
