Jerry Hafeman

Jerry Lee Hafeman was born April 23, 1945 in Wausau. He passed away May 4, 2017 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in the Palliative Care Unit.

Jerry attended Wausau schools and graduated from Wausau Senior High School in 1963. Despite being born with a physical handicap, he became a very skillful bartender. His Old Fashioneds were the best! He worked for many years at his mother's tavern, Here 'Tis. Jerry's interests over the years were drawing, bowling, doing puzzles, and especially going to the casino.

He is survived by his brother, Duane Hafeman; nephews, Randy (Jennifer), Ronald, and Steve Hafeman; great-nieces, Katelyn and Ashley; dear friends, Terry and Harvey Hanson; and cousins.

Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Hafeman; grandparents, Harry and Rose Nelson; sister-in-law, Sandra Hafeman; and special aunts, Emma Boernke and Geraldine Lauermann.

A memorial service will be at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St., Wausau, with Rev. Gary Schultz of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Family and friends may call beginning at 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Private burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, town of Texas.
