Joan E. Lewitzke, age 87, of Wausau died on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Joan was born on June 21, 1934 in Wausau to the late Reuben and Alvina (Krueger) Schneck. She was united in marriage to Dale Lewitzke on May 3, 1952 in Wausau. He preceded her in death on March 29, 2007. Joan was employed with SNE until her retirement.
Joan was an amazing cook and cake decorator. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and the occasional trip to the casino. Above all, Joan was a woman of God whose love could be felt by all those around her. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she never missed an opportunity to share in their lives.
Joan is survived by her children Larry (Tamara) Lewitzke of Lake Geneva, James (Deb) Lewitzke of Wausau, and Diane (Patrick) Wunsch of Pewaukee; grandchildren Jeni (Justin) Oleinik, Stephanie (Bryan) Smith, Lisa (Andy) Sershon, Nolan Lewitzke, and Nick (Katie) Lewitzke; and great-grandchildren Malanyah, Lydia and Will, and Liam, Amelia, Ella and Phillip
Besides her husband and parents, Joan was preceded in death by her sisters Grace Kolbeck, Nancy Kleinschmidt, Forence Edleburg and Belva Jean Schneck and brothers Melvin, James and Howard Schneck.
Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 PM on Monday, March 14, 2022 at Restlawn Memorial Park, 235962 N Troy St, Wausau, WI 54403. The Rev. Steven Gjerde will officiate. Visitation will take place from 11:30 until the time of service at Restlawn on Monday.
