John was born
John volunteered for the Coast Guard during World War II and kept his pride for the time spent in the service through attending Coast Guard reunions. Upon graduating from UW-Stout, John became a teacher of Industrial Arts for 34 years at Stevens Point Area Senior High. John built the home that he and his family lived in for many years with the help of his brothers. Being teachers, John and Bernette were able to take summer vacations with their children. John had many hobbies and interests which included: woodworking, building, Packer games, fishing, hunting, collecting clocks, collecting Native American artifacts, and being among nature.
