John Kressel

John David Kressel died September 18, 2008 at Southdale Hospital , in Edina , MN .



John was born July 31, 1959 in Wausau at St. Mary’s Hospital to the late Gene and Gladys Mary (Berndt) Kressel. He grew up in the Wausau area with his five siblings and graduated from Wausau West High School . John started Cutting Edge Tile with two partners in Minneapolis after moving there nearly twenty years ago. He quickly gained a very good reputation amongst his employees as an employer who cared more about the employee than the bottom line.



In his free time, John enjoyed getting away to his cabin in Fergus Falls and fishing and also playing golf. His greatest passion was playing poker, a game her learned early in life but grew to truly love later in life. John always had a big heart and was known for giving good advice to those in need. His family will remember him as a loving bother, uncle, and brother-in-law.



John is survived by his siblings; Ken (Bert) Kressel of Wausau, Joe “Doc” (Judi) Kressel of Schofield, Cindy (Mark) Richmond of Wassau, Gene Kressel of Minneapolis, MN, and Kim Kressel of Oshkosh. He is also survived by his step-mother, Marlene VanHoof of Appleton ; his very special friends, Jerry and Laurie Thompson family of Albertville , MN , and many nieces and nephews. John is preceded in death by his great niece, Marielle Kressel.



Funeral services will 6:00 PM Thursday, September 25, 2008 at Helke Funeral Home. Deacon Bill Green will be officiating. Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM and last until the time of service at 6:00 PM at Helke Funeral Home. You may sign our family guestbook at www.helke.com .
