John A. Parsell Jr., 84, of Wausau passed away on Friday, January 2, 2015 at his home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
He was born March 31, 1930 in Superior to the late John and Ethel (Scott) Parsell. After high school, John served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a former POW and was honorably discharged as Sergeant in 1954. John married Margaret Hosking on July 17, 1951 in Gordon, MN. They made their home in Su[perior with John working for Russell Creamery. He was later involved in delivery and sales for Kemp Foods retiring in 1979. John and Margaret spent the majority of their retirement years in Sun City West, AZ. He loved playing golf, shooting pool and bowling with his many friends and neighbors.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret and daughter, Debra Moreland of Wausau, two grandchildren, Matthew Moreland and Kimberly (Steve) Nystrand of Madison, three great grandchildren, three step brothers, Harry Parsell of Duluth, Clyde Noreen) Holsclaw of Crystal Lake, Ralph Parsell of New Bethel, MN and a step sister, Fran Brice of Superior. John was preceded in death by his son, John III, sister, Claudia Lastine and step sister, Bernice VanLandshout.
