John Sekorski

May 15, 1930 — July 14, 2013

John E. Sekorski, 83, Wausau, died Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Ministry Saint Clares Hospital in Weston, WI.
John was born May 15, 1930 in the Town of Rietbrock, WI to the late John and Hedwig (Sczgelski) Sekorski Sr. He proudly served his country in the US Army as a Tank Sergeant during the Korean War. After returning home, he met the love of his life Pearl Brandt at a dance at Rib River Ballroom. The happy couple was married on September 11, 1954 in Pine City, MN. John and Pearl were overjoyed with the additions of their children to the family; Jim, Bruce, Laurie, Tim and Cindy. He always worked hard to provide for his family. Over the years John worked for Berger Construction, Marathon Electric, Urban Construction and farmed his own land. He was also captain of the Hamburg Volunteer Fire Department. Through all of his hard work and health issues in his later years, John never was too busy to help family or friends when needed.
John was a man who was always full of life and very proud of his family. John and Pearl were faithful long time members of Trinity Lutheran Church and St. Peter Lutheran Church. His free time often found him watching a Milwaukee Brewers baseball game or Green Bay Packers Game or best of all, sitting for hours along the river fishing for walleyes in quiet peace. John and Pearl enjoyed playing sheepshead with friends in city and country card clubs.
John is survived by wife, "My Sweet Pearl" as he referred to her; children, Jim (Nancy) Sekorski, Bruce Sekorski, Laurie (Mark) Bloch, Tim Sekorski and Cindy (Rock) Larson; grandchildren, Katie (Frank) Ekstrom, Matt Sekorski, Kyle (Samantha) Bloch, Korey Bloch, Tisha Sekorski and Kelsey Larson; great-grandchildren, Addison Ekstrom, Mason and Gracin Bloch; sister, Elizabeth Krause; and extended family and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Cynthia Sekorski; grandson, Zachary John Sekorski; brothers, Alex, Daniel "Jack" and Paul Sekorski; and sisters, Frances Orlikowski, Dorothy Paul, Josephine Adamski, Clara Nowitzke and Sister Mary Herman Joseph (Anna).
