Jory "J.W." Weldon DeLoach of Wausau, WI, passed away in his home after a battle with cancer on January 31, 2017. He was 65 years old. Jory was born on March 30, 1951 in Monroe, LA to Oather and Helen (Maberry) DeLoach, and attended Jones High School in Houston, TX where he was in ROTC. He honorably served in the United States Marine Corps, where he completed multiple tours in Vietnam, served as a drill instructor at MCRD San Diego, was stationed in Okinawa, Japan and was a recruiter in Ohio. Jory left the service with the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. He became a long-haul truck driver, owning his purple Freightliner truck. Jory enjoyed spending time with his family, as well as many friends to whom he was like a father. He could often be found working on cars, cooking classic southern food or reading a book. Jory was preceded in death by his loving parents, and his sisters LaNelda and Oathadel. He is survived by his wife, Yolanda of Wausau, his children; Kirby (Tisa) and Texanna (Jeff) of Longview, TX; Jory (Micaela) of St Paul, MN; John (Jessica) of Twentynine Palms, CA; and Annabeth, Elizabeth and Grace of Wausau; and nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild and his brother Charnol. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Jory will be laid to rest on February 8, 2017 at Houston National Cemetery. Services will be held at American Heritage Funeral Home in Houston, TX on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 11:00am.
