Joyce Marie Toews, 78, of Schofield, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born on April 6, 1935, in Wausau, to Jake and Mildred (Harding) Knapp. Joyce moved to Barron after meeting her husband, Duane, and they made their home there together.
Joyce was a homemaker. She loved her family very much and they were an important part of her life. She also volunteered at the food pantry and the thrift store in Barron. Joyce enjoyed being outside fishing, camping, or taking care of her flower gardens. She will be remembered for her feisty, but loving personality.
Joyce is survived by her children, Marie Resch (Curt), Ann McNutt, Brenda (John) Henson, and Debra Matsche (fiancé, Gene); 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three sisters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Duane; parents, Jake and Mildred; two brothers; two sisters; and grandson, Chad Resch.
Private family services will be held. Burial will be in Wayside Cemetery, Barron, WI.
