Judi E. Bluhm, 74, of Wausau, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at her home.
She was born in Wausau on November 14, 1943 to the late John and Mable (Norman) Dornbrack. After graduating from high school, and an interesting first date, Judi married the love of her life, Gene Otto Bluhm on March 23, 1963.
Judi worked on the playground at G.D. Jones Elementary School while her children attended classes there, and then moved on to working as a Dispatcher for the Trucking Industry. She loved that she got to tell the drivers where to go and when to go there, all while making sure they used their manners; always saying “Please” and “Thank You.”
Judi was an avid fan of Wisconsin Badgers Sports, but not so much of the Green Bay Packers. She enjoyed baking and decorating cakes for all occasions and had a love of history. Judi always spoke her mind, but was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need, whether she was helping her best friend Hazel or taking care of whatever creature her family happened to bring home. She even took in a snake or two, and she really didn’t like snakes! Most important to Judi was her family and she will truly be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Judi is survived by her husband of 55 years, Gene O.; her children, Lisa (Joe) Rechek, Rob (Sue) Bluhm and Wes (Rebecca) Bluhm. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Ryan, Arrianna, Torri (Paul), Gunnar (Ashley) and Auston; honorary granddaughter, Kayla (Austin) and their son Vincent; her brother, John (Mary) Dornbrack and sister, Carol (Bob) Wierzba.
Beside her parents, Judi was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Taine Charissa Bluhm in 1971.
