Juliet Abt

Juliet Mae (Davis) Abt, 84, Wausau, died May 29, 2016 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Benedictine Living Community of complications resulting from congestive heart failure.
She was born December 9, 1931 in Wausau, the youngest child of the late Louis Arthur Davis Sr. and Hattie Hedwig Broetzmann Davis.
She married John H. Abt Sr. on October 29, 1952 at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. She resided in Wausau her entire life. She worked hard outside of the home most of her adult life in jobs ranging from home care for the Mayor of Wausau, waitress, and finally, a factory worker for Connor Forest Industries. But her main occupation was homemaker for her husband of 55 years and her eight children.
She is survived by her eight children: Jerome (Jan) Abt, Eau Claire, James Abt, Oshkosh, John Abt Jr., Wausau, Debra (Steven) Bobert, Wausau, Jeff (Mary) Abt, Kronenwetter, Dawn Abt-Perkins, Waukegan, IL, Diane (Scott) Goree, Wausau, and Denise Abt, Worchester, MA, as well as 14 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. She is survived by two sisters, Ruth Rainsberger, Columbia, OH and Rose Havlovick, Wausau. She is preceded in death by her husband, John H. Abt Sr., two brothers, Franklin and Louis Davis Jr., and a sister, Eleanor Bertha Tucek.
Julie enjoyed cooking, playing (and winning at) bingo and cards and cheering on both the Brewers and the Packers. Mostly, she enjoyed being surrounded by her children and family.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St, Wausau with Father Robert Thorn officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Restlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
