June Albrecht

July 24, 1915 — May 22, 2010

June Elaine Sparr was born July 24, 1915 in Wausau to the late Eric and Hilma (Engstrand) Sparr. She graduated from White Lake High School and went on for two years of instruction in Music in Chicago before the death of her father brought her back to Wisconsin. June married Elmer Albrecht on August 13, 1938 at Grace UCC in Wausau. June began working for Memorial Hospital as a nursing assistant until the couple began having children at which point she helped Elmer with the farm. Years later, she went back to work for Wausau Hospital again as a nursing assistant in the orthopedics ward until her retirement. When Elmer’s health declined from Huntington’s disease, June took care of him at home for the next 15 years until his death on February 7, 1965. When three of her daughters began suffering from the effects of Huntington’s disease, she faithfully visited them in the nursing homes as often as she could until their deaths. Throughout her life, June sought solace through the care of others, whether they were her own family of strangers. Converting and being baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints, her faith strengthened throughout her life. June Albrecht, 94, Wausau, died Saturday, May 22, 2010 at North Central Health Care.

June is survived by her children, Ann (Jim) Stachoviak, Patricia Kennedy, Susan Albrecht, Gloria (Dan) Artibee, Robert Albrecht and David (Sandy) Albrecht; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; and many more extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her daughters, Marcia Cramer, Janet Smith and Marilyn Falkowski; grandchildren, Daniel and Linda Cramer, Brigette Stachoviak and Steven Falkowski; and great-grandchildren, Michael and Daniel Stachoviak.
