June Luedtke

October 14, 1922 — November 13, 2013

June Rose Marie (Boheim) Luedtke passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at age 91, on November 13, 2013, at Mount View Care Center.

She was born October 14, 1922 and raised in Medford, WI, the daughter of the late Fredrick and Ethel (McMillan) Boheim. As a young girl, June entertained social groups as a tap dancer and played flute in the Medford High School marching band. June spent her early adulthood working for Montgomery Ward, in Chicago, before moving to Wausau.

While working for Juneau Supply, she met her husband, Charles D. Luedtke, who survives her. They married in Medford on July 1, 1950 and started a family in Wausau. June and Charles had four children, Randy (Judy) Darnell, Brownstown, MI, Sandra (Dale) Gerlach, Wausau, Patricia (Garry) Doepke, Weston, and Daniel Charles Luedtke, Everett, WA. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Scott (Heide) Darnell, Todd (Stacey) Darnell, Matt (Danielle) Gerlach, Kristin (Dano) Grade, Tanya (Tim) Boock, and Daniel (Jen) Doepke; and eight great-grandchildren, Trevor, Justine, and Katherine Darnell, Brenna Grade, Elizabeth Quick, Gage and Paris Boock, and Miles Doepke.

June truly loved to golf, play cards, and most of all spend time with her children and grandchildren. June shared her love of dancing with her husband, Chuck. She was involved in a lot of church and volunteer activities; including Trinity Welfare Workers, participating in the Goodie Cart and patient bingo at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, and as a Den Mother. She also enjoyed working at Rib Mountain ski area and at the ginseng gardens. She will be mostly remembered for her kind soul and her big smile and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, November 16th, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau, with Reverend Gary Schultz officiating. Burial will follow Monday, at Restlawn Memorial Park. Family will receive guests on Saturday, at church, beginning at 12:30 p.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be made to the endowment fund of Trinity School or Alumni and Friends of Trinity School.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Mount View – Lakeview Heights for the wonderful care June received. Thank you also to Dr. Brian Smith.

In the spirit of June, make someone laugh today.
