Karl Beckman, 68 of Kronenwetter passed away on Friday, December 8, 2017 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born May 31, 1949 in Wausau to the late Emil and Leona (Pregont) Beckman. After graduating from Wausau High School, Karl enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp. He served his country during Vietnam and was honorably discharged as a Lance Corporal. On January 7, 1984 he married Patricia Hitz at Wesley United Methodist Church, Wausau. Karl was a stone polisher at Wausau Granite and then for the Anderson and Johnson granite quarry.
Karl was a quiet, easy going man who always helped those in need. In his younger years, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, camping and waterskiing. He was a football fan of the Packers and Badgers and loved watching them play on the weekends.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia of Kronenwetter, his son and fiancé, David Beckman and Kasandra Lesieur of Kronenwetter, three sisters, Jean (Dale) Burgoyne of Wausau, Joan Walters of Wausau, Sharon Will of Weston and two brothers, Daniel (Dawn) Beckman of Gulf Shores, AL and Rick (Mary Ellen) Beckman of Charlotte, NC. Karl was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Monica Marie, brother, Emil (Billy) and brother-in-law, Tom Walters.
Memorial services with full military honors will be held at Noon on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at the Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St. Wausau. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. You may sign our family guest book at helke.com.
