Katherine "Kathi" Kay Bittner (Kluetz) of Wausau, died on Thursday, January 30th at her home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 74.
She was born to the late Clarence and Ruth (Mathwich) Kluetz on April 8, 1950, in Wausau.
Kathi attended Grant Elementary, John Muir Junior High and graduated from Wausau Senior High School. She was employed in various fields including Employers Mutual Insurance, and also enjoyed working in food service at Aspirus, Billy Moys Restaurant and K-Mart.
Kathi was a very caring person, and family was very important to her. She enjoyed the simple things in life. She was an excellent cook, baker and an immaculate housekeeper. She was extremely artistic and very organized. She had a green thumb and found much joy in gardening. Kathi was an avid Packers and Brewers fan and loved cheering them on.
Kathi is survived by her daughter Amber, her siblings Jerry (Jean) Kluetz, David (Ruth) Kluetz, Dale (Patricia) Kluetz, Jane (Wayne) Schalow, Debra Kluetz and Sue (Neil) Juedes, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and her special friend, Terry Weinberger.
Kathi is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Marilyn and Barbara, brother Phil, and nephew John.
Kathi's family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Thomas Oliver, nurses and staff at the Wausau Cancer Center for their professional and compassionate care given to Kathi, to Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice, with a special thank you to Pastor Barry Levine for the spiritual guidance he gave her.
A private family service will be held.
