Kathleen Holbrook

Kathleen Eleanor Holbrook, 71, died Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Howard Young Medical Center, Woodruff, Wisconsin.

Kathleen was an adventurous, loving, loyal mother, wife, and friend in her 71 years on this earth. She was born on January 11th, 1947 to Russell and Josephine (Wiesman) Wunsch.  She depended on her strong belief in God and her love for both her immediate and extended family.  She is survived by her son, John Holbrook; brother, Roger (Sherry) Wunsch; sister, Carol (Ken) Kropp and her significant other, Barry Vandertie. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Holbrook; sister, Rita (Wayne) Kroeplin and her parents, Russell and Josephine.

Her son will always remember her guidance and love throughout his life and his parent’s love of the northwoods of Wisconsin, and their passion for the outdoors.  Her close friend Barry will always remember her for her love of him and their many dogs. And both Barry and John will remember her for allegiance to Wisconsin sports teams, in particular the Green Bay Packers.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Kathleen will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 8, 2018 at St. Anne Catholic Parish, Wausau.  Fr. Alan Burkhardt will officiate.  Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Friday at the church.  Helke Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements; you may sign our family guest book at helke.com.

In lieu of flowers the family would prefer that donations are made to thetruth.com which is an organization that prevents teens from starting smoking.  Both Kathleen and Robert Holbrook’s lives were significantly shortened by smoking cigarettes.
