Kathryn Marie Brown, 72 of Wausau passed away Thursday October 18, 2018 at North Central Health Care surrounded by her family.
She was born on August 16, 1946, in Hayward, to the late Lee and Elizabeth (Bigboy) Brown Sr..
Kathryn grew up in northern Wisconsin and moved to Iowa in her younger years and eventually made her way back to Wisconsin and lived in the Wausau area for over 30 years. Kathryn had a huge heart and loved to take care of others and extended her help in any way for family and friends. She and her special friend the late Ron Maskewit always opened there home to anyone in need and made sure they were well cared for. Being a true Wisconsinite Katie loved the Packers cheering them on and enjoining the special time with family and friends. She was also proud of her Native American roots and enjoyed volunteering at the Wisconsin Indian Center in Wausau.
She is survived by her son William Brown, Wausau; siblings Elizabeth Houle, Odanah; Lee (Brenda) Brown Jr., Black River Falls; William (Gail) Browne Sr., Bangor; Beatrice Brown,Odanah; Phyllis (Bruce) Tutor, Odanah; and her special four legged friends Wiggles and Missy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Rosemary (Leonard) Bigboy, Theresa Bennett, Ella Bigboy, half-brother Orville Brown and brothers in law Cletus Bennett and Carroll Houle, special friend Ron Maskewit.
A celebration of Kathryn’s life will be on Sunday October 21, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Siga Funmaker Center, W17634 Radke Road, Wittenberg. The Family will have commit service at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Siga Funmaker Center. You may sign the family guest book at helke.com
