Kay Hustedt

September 25, 1948 — October 27, 2015

Kay Rosalie Hustedt, 67, of Wausau, and formerly of Marshfield, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2015, in Rib Mountain. She was born to Omar and Marie (Weigel) Hustedt on September 25, 1948 in Marshfield. Kay attended St. John the Baptist and Columbus High School in Marshfield and completed her last year of High School in Wausau, graduating from Newman Catholic High School.

Kay went to work for Wausau Insurance when she was done with her schooling and worked as an underwriting assistant. She retired from Liberty Mutual in September 2013, after a 43 year career there. She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Parish and she enjoyed sewing and crafting, cooking, container gardening, and planting perennials.

Survivors include her mother, Marie; brothers, Harlow (Jackie) Hustedt, Douglas (Pam) Hustedt, and Keith Hustedt (Sondra Radtke); sister, Mary Ellen (Steven) Sleeter; nephews and nieces, Harry (Jacque) Hustedt, Mercedes (Patrick) Partyka, Joel (Katie) Hustedt, Kelsey Hustedt, Lance (Chas) Sleeter, Mason Sleeter, Megan (Brandt) Isakson, and Melissa Khlapp; great-nephews and nieces, Nate and Noah Hustedt, Henry Isakson, Mateo Khlapp, Melanie Rose Partyka, Adeline, Cecelia, Louisa, and Mollie Hustedt, Isabel Isakson, and Maliya and Milanni Khlapp.

She was preceded in death by her father, Omar; and grandparents, Fred and Mary Hustedt and Henry and Rose Weigel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2015, at Holy Name of Jesus Parish, 1104 South 9th Ave., Wausau, with Father Dan Thelen officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield.
