Kenneth Schuck

Kenneth J. Schuck, age 88, of Port Charlotte Florida (formerly of Wausau) passed away June 10, 2011 at the Peace River Regional Medical Center in Port Charlotte after experiencing complications from a fall. Ken was born November 9, 1922 in Milwaukee, WI to Ben and Dorothy (Ehne) Schuck. After attending college at Ripon College and the University of Wisconsin he began working as a mechanic for Northwest Airlines in 1943 when shortly after he was inducted to the Army Airforce at the age of 21. He attended the Aeronautical School in California and served as a B17 Flying Fortress technical sergeant, flight engineer, with the 301st bomb group based in Lucero, Italy. He flew in fifty missions during WWII. After the war he graduated from Babson University. He married Pearl Schroeder on Dec 4, 1948 in Milwaukee Wisconsin. They moved to Wausau where Ken was the station manager for North Central Airlines (now Delta) with additional responsibilities for the operation in Florida following the merger of North Central and Southern Airlines. Ken is preceded in death by his parents Ben and Dorothy Schuck, and his loving wife Pearl. Survivors include special friend Jean Orfao, Port Charlotte, FL, son Jack (Patricia) Schuck, Wausau, WI and daughters Hallie (Walt) Powers of Port Charlotte, FL and Pam (Ron) Brinza of Sun Prairie WI, four grandchildren, Nathan (Amber) Schuck, Erik (Becky) Schuck, Ryan and Lindsey Brinza, two step-granddaughters Becci Powers-Johnson and Judi Kasner, two great granddaughters, Laurel and Ariel Schuck (Nathan) and four step great grandchildren, Derrick and Kelsi Johnson , and Andrew and Ben Kasner.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 17, 2011 at the Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Revernd John Roseth will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Appleton. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please make a contribution to your favorite charity in Ken's name.
