Kristine "Kris" Marie (Gibbs) Lippert, 59 of Wausau, was called to her final journey by her loving God on Wednesday November 7, 2012. She passed away St. Clare's Hospital, Weston, WI, after a short, but courageous battle with bladder cancer.
She was born on July 31, 1953 to the late Leonard Gibbs and Jean (Wood) Gibbs, of Wausau.
Kris worked for many years at the Peli Clean Carwash, and enjoyed all of the friends that she made while working there.
Her passions of cooking, knitting, crocheting, and cake decorating were evident in the hours that she spent in the kitchen and crafting gifts for both friends and family. Kris also loved to garden and took great pride in the large gardens of both flowers and vegetables that she grew. She enjoyed helping others, and that was evident by her volunteer work as a leader in the Town of Maine 4-H group for many years.
Kris married James Lippert on April 25, 1981, in Wausau, WI. They celebrated 31 years of marriage this year.
She is survived by her husband Jim, Wausau; daughter Michelle, Merrill; mother Jean Gibbs, Wausau; and brothers, Kurt (Sharon) Gibbs, Marathon City, Barry Gibbs, David (Karen) Gibbs, and Terry Gibbs, all of Wausau; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, neighbors and close friends. She will also be missed by all of her "grand-animals."
Kris was always able to bring people together, and her laughter and smile will be missed.
Funeral services will be held 3 P.M., Sunday, November 11, 2012, at the Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Deacon Bob Anderson will officiate. Visitation will take place Sunday, from 11 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home. You may sign our family guestbook at www.helke.com.
The family would like to thank the nurses, CNA's and doctors of the third floor at St. Clare's Hospital in Weston, WI, as well as Ministry Hospice, for their loving care of Kris while she was hospitalized. Everyone who cared for her, cared for her like she was their own family member, and that will always be remembered.
