Landa Baumann, 67, of the town of Stettin, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Ascension St. Clare’s Hospital, Weston, with her husband, Thomas, at her side.
She was born in the town of Almon, Shawano County on March 5, 1950. Landa started school in a one-room schoolhouse and was a graduate of Bowler High School. She loved sports. Landa played softball while in school and later in life played in golf and bowling leagues. She was especially proud when her Cubs finally won the World Series. Most of all, Landa liked to be outside. She deer hunted since she was a young girl, enjoyed ice fishing on Lake of the Woods, boating on Spirit Lake, and would spend time at the cabin feeding the birds and watching the deer.
Survived by her husband, Thomas Baumann. She was preceded in death by her mother, Adelhied Teuchert; and step-father, David Beranowski.
A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2017, at Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St., Wausau, with Rev. Marion Talaga officiating. Family and friends may call beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service in the funeral home.
