Lee Johnson, 78, of Presque Isle, WI passed away on Monday, February 18, 2008 at Howard Young Medical Center, Woodruff.
He was born August 22, 1929 in Appleton to the late William and Sylvia (Carlson) Johnson. Lee served in the U. S. Army as an ammunition truck driver during the Korean War. After returning home, he drove truck for Steffke Freight until his retirement. He was a former member of VFW Burns Post #388 and a 23 year member of American Legion Presque Isle Post. From fishing Up North, deer hunting in Wisconsin and Michigan, Moose hunting in Canada or Mule deer and Elk hunting in Wyoming, Lee loved the outdoors. His other interests included reading, gardening, playing pool, and visiting his friends at the Presque Isle Yacht Club.
Survivors include his three sisters, Betty (Clifford) Tietz, Loretta Seidler, and Virginia (Albert) Reissman all of Wausau and many nieces and nephews. Lee was preceded in death by a brother and his wife, Lyle and Sylvia Johnson and brother-in-law, Ervin Seidler.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 22, 2008 at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Reverend David Faulkner will officiate. Entombment will be at Restlawn Memorial Chapel Mausoleum.
