Lennart A. Bergklint, 92, formerly of the town of Hewitt, died Sunday, Dec.23, 2007, at Kennedy Park Medical and Rehabilitation Center.
Lennart faithfully served his country during World War II in the Marine Corps from November 1943 until February 1946.
Lennart was born Aug. 18, 1915, to the late Alfred and Hulda (Ekman)Bergklint. He married DeLores Kastner on Sept. 25, 1943, in Chicago. Lennart and DeLores celebrated 57 wonderful years together prior to her passing in August 2001.
Lennart worked tirelessly throughout his life as a farmer. Being part of a very self-sufficient generation, he was his own electrician, mechanic,and constantly tinkered with everything he found. Despite all that he had to do
on the farm, his passion was working with wood. Lennart delighted in going to auctions and always came home with something that he could fix up or improve upon.
Lennart is survived by his children, Duane Bergklint of Lakeland, Fla.,Diane (Mike) Seymour of Ringle and Carol (James) Wakely of Wausau;grandchildren, Chad (Jenny) Seymour and their children, Livia and Cole, Brad (Nikky) Seymour, Kelly Kurt Gerrow of Mosinee, Kim Hanneman and Ryan Felch,both of Wausau; and great-grandchildren, PFC Aaron Felch, currently serving in Iraq with the Army 82nd Airborne Division, Arik and James Hanneman and David Felch, all of Wausau and Adam Gerrow of Mosinee. Lennart was preceded in death by his brother, Randolph; and sisters, Isabell Fennema and Doris Sorley.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, at Zion Lutheran Church in the town of Easton. Officiating will be the Rev. David Faulkner. Entombment will be in Restlawn Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Wausau. Visitation
will be from 9 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday at the church.
Military rites will be performed by VFW Burns Post No. 388.
