Lillian Amelia Martha Boelter was born May 7, 1909, the daughter of the late Frank and Emma (Teschner) Scheider, in Amherst, WI. On November 13, 1935, she was united in marriage to Alfred M. Boelter. They spent their early years together enjoying life and making memories and living in Jamestown, ND, while Al made a living drilling water wells for steam driven locomotives. Later, they moved to Amherst, Wisconsin, where they operated a small farm. Later in life they made their home in Rosholt and then moved to Wisconsin Rapids. Lillian and Al were blessed with two children, Eilene and Donald. While caring for her family, Lillian also worked as an Avon representative. After retiring, the couple relocated from Wisconsin Rapids to Wausau.
At the age of 101, Lillian passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2011, at Wausau Manor Nursing Home, Wausau.
Lillian will be missed by her loving family, including her son, Donald Boelter, Noblesville, IN; 6 grandchildren, Jamie and Tim Boelter, CA, Kent Hansen, White, GA, Scott Hansen, Wausau, Chanda Boelter, Noblesville, IN, and Beth Hansen, Wausau; 9 great-grandchildren, son-in-law, David (Donna) Hansen, Wausau; and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; daughter, Eilene Hansen; sisters, Frieda Damrau, Erna Wolding, and Ruth Wolding and her brother, Carl.
A celebration of Lillian's life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Wausau. The Reverend Richard Russow will officiate. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Family will receive guests prior to the service, at the church, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
