Lillian Hoppe

Lillian R. "Auntie Mim" Hoppe, 95, Wausau, passed away Friday, June 5, 2015 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Kennedy Park, Schofield, WI.

Lillian was born May 9, 1920 to Frank and Martha (Drews) Hoppe at 110 Miller Ave, Wausau. She lived in the family home most of her life. Lillian worked for Federal Land Bank for 46 years. She was the secretary to the manager for many years and ended her career as the office manager.

In her younger years she enjoyed golfing and gardening. Lillian was an active member of the YWCA and the First Universalist Church. "Aunt Mim" had many interests. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, knitting, crossword puzzles and word search puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Elmer (Gertrude) Hoppe and Melvin (Gertrude) Hoppe; two sisters, Erna and Baby; two nieces, Shirley (Robert) Reichel and Sharon Swanson; nephew, Thomas (Sheryn) Hoppe; and two great-nieces, Jo Lambright and Kathy (Michael) Schultz. Lillian is survived by two nieces, Barbara Kloostra and Susan Kanitz; nephew-in-law, Robert Reichel and niece-in-law, Sheryn Hoppe. She is further survived by a large extended family of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 5:00 PM on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Reverend Laurie Bushbaum will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home. There will be a private burial at a later date in Pine Grove Cemetery.
