Lillian B. Ruechel

Lillian Ruechel, Wausau, 100, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 20, 2024 at Sylvan Crossings on Evergreen. Lillian was born in Wausau on August 28, 1923 to the late Edward and Anna Ruechel. Being raised in a Christian home with strong work and family values shaped Lillian's character. She was a hard worker and very caring person, always putting the needs of others before her own. Lillian was an excellent cook, baker, gardener, and seamstress. Her Christmas cutout cookies were a favorite of her nieces and nephews. They all looked forward to receiving a tray at the holidays. 

Lillian was a faithful member of Salem Lutheran church in Wausau supporting and participating in Salem Guild. She also was a dedicated volunteer at Dime and Dollar. For many years Lillian was employed in the housekeeping department at Wausau Insurance Co. 

Survivors include her sister Mabel Clemens and brother Berden Ruechel, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister Vivian, sister Mildred Wurster and brothers Elmer, Adolph, Fred, Floyd, Marvin, and Elroy. 

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Peter Lutheran Church/Wausau Campus (2822 N. 6th St. Wausau Wi 54403) Pastor Kevin Schnake will officiate. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024 from 9:00 AM until the hour of service at the church. Entombment will follow at 1:30 PM at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
