Lillie S. Utech, 94, of the Town of Hamburg, passed away at home with her family nearby on Saturday, October 15, 2011. She was born to the late Richard and Irene (Sabatke) Giese on March 15, 1917 in the Town of Berlin. She married Eldor Utech on August 31, 1940 in the Town of Berlin at the church parsonage.
Lillie was known as a good mother and mother-in-law, and was always ready to help anyone that needed it. Family was important to Lillie as she helped raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family kept her in high regard as well because of her contributing to their upbringing. She could be found in the garden or tending to her flowers, both were things that Lillie enjoyed. Lillie also liked to can, bake, and crochet. She liked to share the products of her hobbies with her family. She was especially good at preparing her horseradish, pickles, and her cheesecake. Lillie worked at the Fromm Brothers farm helping with numerous tasks including sorting fox, and her favorite, spraying the Ginseng. Her faith and church were very important to Lillie. She was a member at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Naugart.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy (Earl) Becker of Athens; grandchildren, Sherry (Wade) Ninnemann of the Town of Scott, Tim Becker (Kris Benson) of Merrill, Cindy (Sean) Trumblay of Merrill; five great-grandchildren, Nichole and Ryan Trumblay, Amanda and Melissa Becker, and Tiffany Ninnemann; step-great-grandson, Corey Scheel; sisters-in-law, Helen Giese and LeLada Giese; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Eldor in 1967; parents; brothers, Edwin, Alfred, Walter, and Lavern; and sisters, Nina Oelke and Linda Schuster.
