Lloyd Mueller
August 3, 1926 — July 30, 2012
Lloyd M. Mueller, Wausau, entered eternal life on Monday, July 30, 2012, at Our House Assisted Living at age 85. He was born December 3, 1926, in Wausau, the son of Walter J.C. and Lottie (Weinkauf) Mueller.
He was Baptized, Confirmed, and educated at Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Wausau. After graduating from Wausau High School in 1944 he served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946 as a radioman aboard the U.S.S Mandan. After his term in the service he attended U.W.-Whitewater. On May 13, 1950, he married Elaine Eschenbach at Zion Lutheran Church, Wausau.
Lloyd worked at the former Northern Milling Company for 35 years, retiring as president, and co-owner. He was a businessman of highest integrity who appreciated many friendships with his co-workers, and customers.
His Lutheran faith was uppermost in his life. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church for 62 years, during which time he served as financial secretary for many years, and on numerous finance committees. He was also a weekly money counter for 30 years.
Lloyd enjoyed a long retirement raising hundreds of annual flowers from seed each spring and delivering mobile meals for 18 years. He also bowled weekly with a group of good friends for 60 years. Lloyd liked to take long Westside walks, and traveled extensively with Elaine.
He was a dedicated worker, and a devoted husband and father who loved and provided for his family. He will be deeply missed and remain in his family's hearts always.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Elaine; three sons, Thomas, Boone, N.C. John (Heide) Onalaska, WI, Richard, Twin Cities; two grandsons, Joe and David, Onalaska, WI, and a niece, and nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Evelyn Birkholz; and brother, Walter E. Mueller.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 3, 2012, at Zion Lutheran Church, Wausau. Reverend Ted Gulhaugen will officiate. Family and friends may call at the church for visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Friday. Entombment will be at Restlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
