Lois Ann Kainz, 81, of Wausau, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2016, at Wausau Manor, under the care of AseraCare Hospice.
She was born at home in rural Marathon County to Elmer and Evelyn (Mielke) Heise on May 2, 1935. Lois attended the former Wausau High School. Later, she was married to Louis Kainz, Jr. on August 27, 1966 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Wausau.
After over 40 years working at Employers Insurance Company Lois decided to retire. She continued to work part-time for a few years in the office of Marathon Feed, which was owned by her brother. Family was very important to Lois, and the things she enjoyed including baking, knitting, and crocheting, were all shared with them. She was a member of a knitting and crocheting club that met monthly. When she was able, she also liked working in her flower garden. Family gatherings, especially in the fall before Gene left to winter in Florida, were a time she always looked forward to.
Survivors include, daughter, Marilyn (Randy) Krueger; grandchildren, Andy (Megan) Krueger, Dr. Rebecca (Robert) Myszka, Katie Krueger, Jamie Lodholz-Bootz, and Jenny (Jody) Lodholz-Krueger; great-grandchildren, Bailey, Bowen, Marri, Brexton, Randi, Griffin, Jace, Ivan, Madie, and Clay; siblings, Dale (Patricia) Heise, Judy (Merlin) Steinagel, and Gene (Sharon) Heise; nieces, Renee (Brian) Wesolowski, Terri (Jason) Heise-Sturm, and Linda (Steve) Schultz; nephews, Ross (Julie) Heise, Tom Heise, Todd (Chris) Heise, Jeff (Jillian) Heise, Mike (Stacy) Heise, Dean Steinagel, Brian (Jodi) Steinagel, and Kerry Steinagel; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Heise.
