Lois Naef

Lois Irene Naef, 92, Wausau, went home to be with her Lord on August 9, 2015 at her home under the care of AseraCare Hopsice.

Lois was born February 20, 1923 in Birch Cooley Township, MN, the 4th of 5 daughters of the late Frank and Irene (Von de Linde) Adler. Lois grew up in Neenah, WI. She married Reuben Naef on October 4, 1945 at the old courthouse in Marathon County, the couple were blessed with three sons; Richard, Timothy and Jack. Lois and Reuben worked on their dairy farm for a number of years together before selling it. She later worked for ASCS and North Central Health Care retiring in 1985.

Lois was a good wife and mother and also a loving and caring grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a wonderful cook and baker, making many wonderful meals for the family. Lois often spent time in her garden raising vegetables and flowers, painting many pictures and traveling and fishing with Reuben following retirement.

Lois is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Reuben of Wausau; sons, Richard (Dori) of Waldo, Timothy (Kathleen) of Wausau and Jack (Connie) of Franktown, CO; grandchildren, Lauri (Nathan) Meinhardt, Daniel (Alice) Naef, Mandy (Matthew) Taylor, Becky (Daniel) Hageman, Kristy (Justin) Johnson, Ryan (Sheralyn) Naef and Kendall Naef; great-grandchildren, Tannen, McKenna, Taylen, McKaea, Brandan, Brittney, Reyna, Adam, Ocean, Senna, Glade, Aspen, Nora, Coen, Nico, Dexter, Kaitlyn, and many extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Jeanette, Marian, Harriet and Frances.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home on Saturday. Entombment will be at Restlawn Mausoleum, Town of Texas. You may sign our family guestbook at helke.com.
