Lorene Hussong

Lorene Ruby Hussong, 93, of Wausau, passed away Monday, December 5, 2016, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Lorene was born January 22, 1923, in Stevens Point, WI, daughter of the late Richard and Ella (Hackbarth) Weber. She received her education in Wausau before her marriage to Elmer H. Hussong on March 9, 1941, in Pine City, MN.
Lorene and Elmer made their home in Wausau, all their married life, and she was employed at Kraft Foods until her retirement. They enjoyed spending time at their cottage first in Medford and later in Tomahawk. She also enjoyed craft work, especially crocheting and knitting.
Lorene is survived by her children, Donald Hussong, Judith Ostrowski, William Hussong, Duane (Barb Garske) Hussong, all of Wausau, and Patricia (Sigmund) Opper of Merrill, 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Bernard and Jack, husband Elmer on July 18, 1995, one sister, Evelyn and two brothers, Melvin and Dale.
A Memorial Gathering will be held from 3-6 p.m., Thursday, December 15, 2016 at the Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce Street, Wausau. Burial will be at a later date at Restlawn Memorial Park.
