Loretta E. Hintz, 90, died March 16, 2009, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services, at Marywood Convalescence Home.
She was born on June 8, 1918, in Sheboygan, WI, the daughter of the late Emil and Hedwig (Reimer) Krueger.
She married Herman Hintz II, on September 30, 1939, in Sheboygan.
He preceded her in death on January 14, 1983.
Loretta was employed at J.C. Penney Company for 23 years, retiring in 1980.
She was a member of the Welfare Workers and Thursday Morning Bible Class at Trinity Lutheran Church.
She also enjoyed traveling, which included Germany, Switzerland, England, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Nova Scotia, Hawaii, and many states.
Survivors include a son, Herman (Sandra) Hintz III, Wausau; a daughter Mary Y. Cleveland, Wausau; 5 grandchildren, Tracy (Seth) Thun, Silver Bay, MN, Kelly (Mike) Tollar, DePere, WI, Scott (Jennifer) Hintz, Wausau, Melissa (Heath) Poeske, Rothschild, and Shawn (Rebecca) Cleveland, Wausau; 12 great-grandchildren, Megan, Luke, and Aubrey Thun, Ashley, Ezra, and Jessalyn Tollar, Amelia and Maggie Hintz, Brenna and Samantha Poeske, and Tyler and Brady Cleveland; a sister-in-law, Hildegarde Krueger, Brillion, WI; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Ray E. Cleveland; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 19, at 11:00 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau.
The Reverend Gary Schultz will officiate.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church, on Thursday.
Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park.
