Lorraine Elford

Lorraine Virginia Elford, 92, formerly of Wausau, died Friday, August 29th in Stevens Point under hospice care.
Lorraine was born June 11, 1922 in Wausau to the late Max and Emma (Treu) Koenig. She was the youngest in a large family. At the end of World War II she married Edwin Schield. The young family lived in Wausau for the majority of their married life and had two daughters; Pamela and Debora. For many years, Lorraine worked as a nursing assistant and physical therapy aid. After Edwin's passing, Lorraine married Ivan Elford who also preceded her in death.
Lorraine is survived by her daughters; Pamela (Peter) Hintz and Debora (Paul) Katz; grandchildren, Edward and Scott (Kim) Hintz and Samuel and Micah Katz; great-granddaughter, McKenna; and extended family and friends.
There will be a graveside memorial service at Pine Grove Cemetery on September 17, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Rev. Phil Schneider will officiate. Helke Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements; you may sign our family guestbook at www.helke.com.
