Lorraine Plautz

Lorraine was born April 1st 1936, at home on the family farm, in the town of Rib Falls, to the late Walter and Selma (Zunker) Dahlke. She graduated from Marathon High School in 1955. Lorraine met Fredrick Plautz during a dance at Schmidt's Ballroom and the couple was wed on August 11th 1956, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Marathon.

A longtime member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Wausau, Lorraine enjoyed participating in Luther League, volunteering, and participating in the quilting ministry. She loved to dance to polkas, waltzes, and the fox trot. Her favorite hobby was creating silk flower arrangements; and she also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, reading, and listening to music.

On Saturday, October 5th 2013, Lorraine Helen Plautz died at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was 77 years old.

Lorraine will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Nancy Lindsley; two grandsons, Daniel (Moriah) Lindsley and Patrick (Stephanie) Lindsley; two great-grandsons, Sean and Chester; three siblings, Douglas Dahlke, June (Elroy) Roeder, and Sharon (Merlin) Goetsch; sister-in-law, Doris Dahlke; and other family and many dear friends.

Along with her parents, Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Fredrick, on January 5th 2008; and five siblings, Wilbert, Hubert, and Harold Dahlke, Stella Schuster, and Eleanor Kage.

A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, October 10th, at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Wausau, with Reverend Gary Froseth officiating. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park. Family will receive guests on Thursday, at church, beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

The family would like to thank Terri and staff, along with the staff on the Cardiac Unit, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital for the dedicated care provided to Lorraine and her family.
