Lorraine Rhyner

July 31, 1919 — December 17, 2009

Lorraine Rhyner was a devout wife and mother who believed family always came first. Lorraine and her husband, Myron raised their two daughters, Susan and MaryBeth on Seymour Street in Wausau. Lorraine was involved in the PTA at the girl’s schools as well as a leader with their Girl Scout Troops. When she became a Grandma, Lorraine loved spending time with her grandchildren teaching them various card games, especially Poker. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church and in her earlier years taught Sunday School. Lorraine will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and her willingness to always help others before herself.

At the age of 90, Lorraine passed away peacefully at her home at Stone Crest Residence, Wausau.

She was born July 31, 1919 in Pittsville to the late William and Louisa (Janz) Adamsheck. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids. Then in 1936, the family moved to the Wausau area. The family home was located next to a grocery store that Myron owned. She met Myron and later they helped out at his father’s business, Rhyner Candy Store in Wausau. So on June 17, 1944, it was only natural that Lorraine married Myron at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Schofield. Myron had worked at Marathon Electric and Lorraine worked several years at M & I Bank in the bookkeeping department. They enjoyed taking the girls fishing, traveling, and continuing the Rhyner candy making tradition. Lorraine’s pastimes also included making crafts, playing at the Casinos, and shopping garage sales.

Survivors include one daughter, MaryBeth (Arthur) Huebner of Wausau, five grandchildren, Amy Wilde, Danial (Angie) McCrory, Matthew (Charity) McCrory, Christopher Huebner, Bethany Huebner, four great grandchildren, Aidan and Kyler McCrory, Lucas Hager, Felicia McCrory, and one brother, Jim (Eilene) Adamsheck of Bloomington, MN. Lorraine was preceded in death by Myron and her daughter, Susan Wilde-Harn.
