Louann Fenhaus

November 17, 1934 — December 2, 2014

Louann E. Fenhaus, 80, of the town of Wausau, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at Aspirus Hospice House. She was born to Kenneth and Elta (Triebel) Worden in Wausau on November 17, 1934. Louann received her education in Wausau and was a 1952 graduate of Wausau High School. She married Edward Fenhaus in 1954 at Zion Lutheran Church, Wausau, where she was also baptized and confirmed.

Louann served the public during her careers in town and county government. She was a Deputy and Town Clerk for the Town of Wausau for 22 years, was involved with office management for 20 years, and was the Marathon County Clerk for 12 years (1985 – 1997). She held memberships on the Marathon County Historical Society Board, Wisconsin Valley Library Board of Trustees, Altrusa Club, Zion Lutheran Church and the Altar Guild, and served as a volunteer at the Wausau Hospital.

She had a strong work ethic from growing up on the family farm and loved her family, especially the time she spent with her grandchildren. Louann liked music and westerns; enjoyed being out fishing, gardening, or camping; and took many enjoyable trips with her family and friends. She was known by many as a talented cross-stitcher. Louann also enjoyed her Wisconsin sports, watching the Packers and listening to the Brewers on the radio.

Survivors include her husband, Edward; son, Ronald (Nancy) Fenhaus; daughter-in-law, Gloria Fenhaus; daughters, Pamela (Ron) Hoppe and Lisa (Scott) Johnson; son, Mark Fenhaus; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Verda Bliese of Wausau, Sally (Fred) Fenhaus of Wausau, Patsy (Jim) Mallon of Alpine, CA, Mary Coleman of Mankato, MN, and Sandy (John) Townshend of Wausau; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Cliff and Karen Prigge and Mike and Kathy Bartelt, all of Wausau.

Louann was preceded in death by son, Gary; parents, Kenneth and Elta; brother, Dean Worden; sister, Rita Worden; father and mother-in-law, Conrad and Selma Fenhaus; and brother-in-law, Dennis Bliese.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 8, 2014, at Zion Lutheran Church, 709 Sixth St., Wausau, with Rev. Ted Gulhaugen officiating. Family and friends may call on Sunday, December 7, beginning at 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau, and again on Monday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be at a later date in Restlawn Memorial Park, town of Texas.
