Lucina D. Wasmundt, 81, of Wausau passed away on Monday, July 27, 2009 at Marywood Convalescent Center.
She was born September 15, 1927 in Aniwa to the late Ernest and Anne (Miller) Kottke. After graduating from Wausau Senior High School, Lucina attended nursing school in St. Paul, MN. She then worked at Mt. View Sanitarium until her retirement. On July 25, 1953, Lucina married Ernest Wasmundt at Zion Lutheran Church, Wausau. Together they raised their three sons, on the family farm in the town of Stettin. Lucina was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. She enjoyed her pet cats, but especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Mark (Cindy) Wasmundt of Edgar, Tim (Laurie) Wasmundt of Milwaukee, 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and daughter-in-law, Jean Wasmundt of Mosinee. She was preceded in death by Ernest in December 2007, her son, Sheldon, a brother, Lawrence Kottke and a sister, Elaine Langenhahn.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Helke Funeral Home with private funeral services to be held on Friday. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Helke Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. You may sign our family guest book at helke.com.
