Lyle D. Schubring Sr, 79 of Schofield (Village of Weston) died Thursday, April 17, 2014 peacefully at home, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care Hospice with his family at his side.
He was born February 4, 1935 in Wausau, WI, son of Richard and Marie (Schmidt) Schubring. He received his education in Wausau. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country during two tours during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Air Force after 20 years and 1 day. He returned to the Wausau area where he was employed as a sheet metal fabricator for France Sales and Service for 13 years. On November 8, 1980 he married Linda Lausten in Wausau.
In free times Lyle enjoyed doing home repair projects, jig saw puzzles and bowling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Andy, six brothers, Maynard, Rodney, Dale, Kenneth, Friedrick and Terrance, and four sisters, Carmin, Delores, Ione and Phyllis.
He is survived by his wife Linda, a daughter Lona (Roger) Sarasin of Theresa, WI, four sons, Craig (Jean) Schubring, Lyle (Virginia) Schubring Jr both of Wausau, Kyle (Jeannie) Schubring of Merrill, WI and DuWayne Schubring of Gainesville, FL, four grandsons, two great grandsons, a sister Ruth Reetz of Wausau, and two brothers, Gordon (Mavis) Schubring of Merrill, WI and Allan (Marge) Schubring of Lake in the Hills, IL.
Visitation will be held 4-8 PM on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 and 1 hour prior to services at the Helke Funeral Home. Memorial Services will be held 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Helke Funeral Home. Military rites will be conducted by VFW Burns Post # 388 Wausau. Burial will be at a later date at the Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Wausau.
