Lyle Wendt

Lyle E. Wendt, Aniwa/Wausau - Born July 7, 1947 - passed away May 14th 2008 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Lyle walked many paths in his life, but his most cherished job titles were that of: Husband, Dad, and Grandpa.
Lyle was united in marriage to Calista Little, November 5, 1966 at First United Methodist Church, Wausau. Through fair weather and dark days they were side by side for forty-one years. Calista "Tisty" survives and will continue on.
Lyle also leaves behind daughter, Melissa and her husband Daniel Blacklock; their son, Zachary; son, Mike Wendt and his wife Heather; mother, Helen Wendt; sisters, Verna (Robert) Schalow, Lois (Gary) Hoffman, and Phyllis Venner; and brother, Donald (Inge) Wendt. He is further survived by brother-in-law, Jerry (Sally) Dunbar; sister-in-law, Christine Petroski; his "kind of like another kid", Mike Blank and his wife Daylin and their kids, David, Matthew, and Michaela; Lori Ann Ullenbrauk and her girls, Allison and Emily; many nieces, nephews and friends - as well as some "fuzzy grandkids". Lyle is preceded in death by his father, Alfred; and father and mother-in-law, Clifford and Lucille Little.
Perhaps he would be best remembered as a man who was quick to yell at ya' but even quicker to lend a hand or shoulder to anyone who had need of him.
A memorial service will be 3:00 PM Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home and conclude at 4:00 PM. There will be a private family inurnment at a later date in Restlawn Cemetery.
