Mae C. Gliniecki, 84, died Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Aspirus Hospice House.
She was born July 2, 1929 in the town of Cassel, daughter of the late John and Lillian (Cizek) Lensmire. On August 11, 1953, she married Le-Roy B. Gliniecki at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Marathon. He survives. Mae and Le-Roy adopted two children: Marie in 1964 and David in 1966.
Mae was an active member of Holy Name of Jesus Parish since 1953. She was a church lector for 49 years, was involved in St. Catherine's Council, as well as many other church activities. Mae enjoyed dancing, traveling, spending time up north, fishing, writing, reading, knitting (especially Christmas stockings), and going to the casino. Mae and Le-Roy celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2013. Their children made it a special day.
Mae was preceded in death by her parents, Godchild, Heide Lensmire, brother, Calvin Lensmire, brothers-in-law, Virgil Kaiser, Larry Gliniecki, Ted Gliniecki, Bernard Gliniecki and Milton Gabrielski and sisters-in-law, Jackie Gliniecki and Rita Gliniecki.
She is survived by her husband, Le-Roy, daughter, Marie Seitz, son, David (Connie) Gliniecki, granddaughter, Sara Gliniecki, sisters, Winnie Kaiser, Joan (Lawrence) Wirkus, brothers, Warren (Grace) Lensmire, John (Lynn) Lensmire, sisters-in-law, Alvina Lensmire, Gerty Gabrielski, Gloria (Richard) Milanowski, Joni Gliniecki and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 25, 2014 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 1104 S. 9th Ave., Wausau. Father Tom Huff will officiate. Entombment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. You may sign our family guest book at helke.com.
The family would like to thank Father Tom for visits and Catholic guidance and the support group of Holy Name (especially Jean, Gary, Eleanor) and Dolly. Thank you to the Aspirus Group, Dr. Chris Peterson (Mae's cancer doctor) and all the other doctors and staff at the Aspirus Regional Cancer Center and Aspirus Hospice House. Thank you for all the care, love and support given to Mae and her family and friends.
Mae was always appreciative of the support of her immediate family, Le-Roy, Marie, Dave, Connie, Sara and her extended family. She loved them all.
