Margaret Gladys Anderson, 98, Wausau, died Monday, December 12, 2016 at Colonial Manor, Wausau.
Margaret was born July 26, 1918 in Wausau to the late Oscar and Laura Christianson. She married Andrew Anderson on May 7, 1938 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Merrill. The couple was blessed with two sons: Kenneth and Marvin.
Margaret and Andrew celebrated 49 loving years together prior to his death on November 7, 1987.
Margaret was a very supportive and fair mother to her sons and their families. In addition to proudly raising her sons, she was very active at Pilgrim Lutheran Church where she was a charter member since 1958. Over the years, she quilted and worked with children at Pilgrim Lutheran Church and was very well respected by children and adults alike; often being referred to as "Grandma" by all.
Margaret is survived by her loving sons, Kenneth (Nancy) and Marvin (Karen) Anderson; grandchildren, Joan (Tim) Barth, Tiffany (Kevin) Johnson, Tina (John) Jeanquart, Chad Anderson and Carly Anderson-Hasse; 5 great-grandchildren; and extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her siblings, Sylvia Clark, Henry Christianson, Myrtle Brummond, Lillian Anderson, Leslie Christianson, Roy Christianson, baby Gladys, twin brother Raymond Christianson and Walter "Bud" Christianson; and her very good friend and neighbor, Mona Schmidt.
Funeral service will be 12:00 PM on Monday, December 19, 2016 at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Pastor Ray Claussen will be officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, Town of Texas.
