Margaret Knorr

Margaret Marlene Knorr, 74, of Wausau, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2016, at her home, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

She was born in Wausau to Arthur W. and Lena (Krueger) Knorr on July 13, 1941. Margaret grew up on the family farm in the town of Berlin. She attended local schools and graduated from Wausau High School in 1960. After her schooling she worked for Marathon County, first at North Central Health Care as a clerical aide and later at the Job Center.

Margaret will be remembered for her caring heart and the enjoyment she had helping people. She took care of her father and other family members as they aged, which also included rides to church and other errands. Margaret was a member of Our Savior's Evangelical Lutheran Church and also of the Altar Guild. She enjoyed playing Sheepshead and Canasta, playing her games on the computer, and her cats. She was a fan of both the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers.

Survivors include her nephew, Gerald Knorr of Athens; Goddaughter and cousin, Rhonda (Chad) Hoffer of Marathon; and many cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Lena; brother, Donald Knorr; sister-in-law, Delores Knorr; and niece, Sharon Knorr.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at Our Savior's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 703 Flieth St., Wausau, with Rev. Robert Edwards officiating. Family and friends may call beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery – Naugart (town of Berlin).
