Margaret Weinkauf

Margaret Weinkauf 89, of Wausau died Friday, August 22, 2014 at the Hospice House under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
She was born December 10, 1924 in the town of Wein, to the late Otto and Sophia (Hoernke) Seeger. She received her education at Colby High School where she graduated. She continued her education at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point graduating with her teaching degree.
Margaret taught in Rib Mountain and was the founder and co-owner of Riverview Construction. On June 27, 1947 she was united in marriage to Ewald Weinkauf.
She enjoyed working in her flower garden, traveling and spending her winters in Rockport, TX. Margaret loved to write letters to serviceman during the Vietnam War and had continued to correspond with them to this day.
Funeral Services 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church 930 Edgewood RD in Wausau. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 25, 2014 from 5-7PM at the Helke Funeral Home 302 Spruce Street, Wausau after again after 10:00 AM Tuesday at the church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ewald , one sister Marie and two brothers George and Arnold.
Margaret is survived by her children Beverly (James) Morford of Englewood, FL, Doug (Dixie) Weinkauf, Dennis (Cindy) Weinkauf, Randall (Peggy) Weinkauf and Allen (Kathy) Weinkauf all of Wausau, sixteen grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
