Marian Domres, 92, of Wausau passed away at the home of her daughter, Lynn Buhmann, on Wednesday, May 1, 2013. She was under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Service.
Marian was born July 19, 1920 in Wausau to the late Wallace and Eleanor (Kmen) Hall. She was a graduate of Wausau High School. During WWII Marian worked for Murray Machinery and the Wausau Phone Company. On April 4, 1946, Marian married Alvin Domres in Rock Island, Ill. They worked for the Wallace Hall Construction Company with Marian as their bookkeeper. At the age of 44, Alvin died suddenly leaving Marian to raise their two children, Lynn and Wayne. In 1963, Marian began working in the personnel department at Memorial Hospital and later Wausau Hospital. She took great pride in her career and the many friends she made. Marian retired in 1986 after 23 years of service. Marian was a former deacon at First Presbyterian Church. Her pastimes included playing cards, flower gardening and enjoying the family cabin on Lake Katherine in Hazelhurst.
Survivors include her daughter, Lynn (Bruce) Buhmann of Wausau, son, Wayne (Lanae) Domres of Rosholt, five grandchildren, Sarah (Jim) Yoho of Rochester, MN, Marc (Francine) Buhmann of Oak Park, Ill, Nathan and Paul Domres of Rosholt, Todd Domres of Stevens Point, three great grandchildren, Alyssa Yoho, Leo and Dominic Buhmann and one sister, Irma Caparosa of Butler, PN. Marian was further preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Joseph Caparosa.
Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 4, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church Chapel, 406 Grant St., Wausau. Reverend Joy Nelson-Jeffers will officiate.
